Structure and Governance
Governance and Practices
At Farmers DAO, we believe in a governance model that blends efficiency, transparency, and member empowerment. Our aim is to foster a vibrant community that actively participates in shaping the future of agriculture. Here's an overview of our structure and governance.
Core Team Decision-Making
Our core team is entrusted with the responsibility to act swiftly and make decisions in the best interest of the DAO. This approach ensures that critical matters can be addressed promptly to benefit the organization as a whole. The core team's expertise and commitment drive the daily operations and strategic direction of Farmers DAO.
Member Input and Decision Participation
We value the insights and input of our members. Transparency and inclusivity are fundamental principles of our governance. Members have access to information about all decisions made by the core team. They are encouraged to provide their thoughts, suggestions, and feedback on these decisions and even submit proposals for the team to review. Additionally, our core team may choose to submit certain proposals to the wider membership for voting. This way, members actively contribute to shaping the DAO's direction and policies.
Community Fund Autonomy
We believe in empowering our DAO members with complete control over their financial contributions. Therefore, Farmers DAO maintains a separate community fund that belongs solely to the DAO members. This fund is beyond the core team's jurisdiction and is managed entirely by the members themselves. The community fund provides an avenue for members to allocate resources and initiate projects that align with the DAO's mission and vision.
Membership Determined by NFT Ownership
Farmers DAO membership is determined by NFT ownership. Individuals who hold the designated NFTs associated with the DAO become members with a stake in its decision-making and activities. This approach ensures that members have a vested interest in the success and sustainability of the organization. NFT ownership not only grants access to the DAO's governance processes but also entitles members to participate in discussions, propose initiatives, and exercise voting rights.
By linking membership to NFT ownership, Farmers DAO fosters a community of individuals who share a genuine commitment to the DAO's mission. It aligns interests and encourages active engagement among our members, reinforcing our collective dedication to reshaping the agricultural industry for the better.
Proposal Submissions
Member-Initiated Proposals
Democratic Mechanism: In line with our commitment to member empowerment, we welcome and encourage proposal submissions from all community members. We believe that every voice matters in our DAO's decision-making process.
Community Initiatives: Members are encouraged to propose initiatives, projects, or changes that align with the DAO's mission and vision. These proposals can cover a wide range of topics, from sustainability initiatives in agriculture to improvements in governance procedures.
Inclusivity and Transparency: Our governance system emphasizes transparency and inclusivity. Members have access to information about all decisions made by the core team and can actively contribute their thoughts, suggestions, and feedback. Your ideas are valuable and can help shape the direction and policies of Farmers DAO.
Core Team Review
Expertise and Efficiency: While the majority of our governance operates on democratic principles, we recognize that certain critical matters require swift decision-making. In such cases, the core team is entrusted with the responsibility to act efficiently and make decisions in the best interest of the DAO.
Proposal Submission: Members also have the option to submit proposals for review by the core team in matters involving their jurisdiction. This approach ensures that essential operational matters are addressed promptly, benefiting the organization as a whole.
Community Fund Autonomy
We maintain a separate community fund that belongs solely to our DAO members. This fund is beyond the core team's jurisdiction and is managed entirely by the members themselves. The community fund provides an avenue for members to allocate resources and initiate projects that align with the DAO's mission and vision.
Voting and Execution Practices
NFT-Based Voting: Our voting system is rooted in NFT ownership, providing a fair and transparent method for members to express their preferences. Each NFT owned corresponds to a specific number of votes, granting members the ability to influence decision outcomes.
Series A and Series B NFTs: We've established two distinct tiers of NFTs, Series A and Series B, to accommodate different levels of community involvement. Series A NFTs grant holders three times the voting power of a standard vote, recognizing the contributions of early supporters and dedicated members. Series B NFTs provide one vote per NFT, ensuring inclusivity and representation for all members.
Transparent Execution: Once a proposal is approved through our voting process, we ensure transparent and accountable execution. We strive to keep our community informed about the progress of approved initiatives, providing regular updates and insights into their implementation.
Community Fund Control: As part of our commitment to decentralization, the community maintains control over a separate fund dedicated to DAO members. This fund empowers members to allocate resources and initiate projects that align with the DAO's mission. Importantly, this fund remains beyond the jurisdiction of the core team.
In summary, Farmers DAO's hybrid governance model combines efficient core team decision-making with active member participation and input. We strive to maintain transparency, promote inclusivity
